Tedcor has formed a strategic partnership with HVC to provide compost products into the South African Market. The composting product is based on the current technology being used by HVC. HVC currently provides compost through two modern, closed composting facilities, one in Purmerend and the other in Middenmeer.
The composting plant can produce approximately 30,000 tonnes of organic compost from 90,000 tonnes of organic waste. In the composting facilities, bacteria take approximately 6 weeks to convert organic waste into compost. This is done in closed halls through the addition of oxygen and water. Compost is an excellent soil improver. It ensures an even distribution of water, air and nutrients in the soil. Good soil structure promotes plant development.
