Police Junior Leadership, Gauteng
Tedcor was also involved in the Lesedi la Bokamoso project since 2005. The project was originally a partnership between British Airways, Charlton Athletic Football Club, London's Metropolitan Police, the South African Police Services (SAPS), the Alex Football Association, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the UK-based John Cabot School.
The UK funded programme in Alexandra (near Johannesburg) was started in 2003 in conjunction with British Airways and the Metropolitan Police. It was handed over to its South African partners in 2005.
The project delivered a series of theoretical and practical workshops that range from football coaching to citizenship classes. The purpose of Lesedi la Bokamoso was to leave a sustainable project that could be run by local project partners, which would reach out to all the children of the Alexandra community.
The visit by their Royal Highnesses marked the realisation of the original vision of including all the children of Alexandra township. During the delivery week, 16 to 20 October 2006, the children of Nokuthula - a special needs school that was not part of the original programme - were able to learn and play together with the children of other schools involved in the project.

Lap desks, blankets IT equipments donations, Gauteng
Tedcor, Mutual and Federal, Standard Bank and MAN jointly donated 1 000 Lapdesks to Chivirikani Primary School in Katlehong. The School had 1 545 learners, 600 of whom were orphans. About 70% of the learners' parents are unemployed and struggle to pay school fees. Lap desks will go a long way to enhance learning conditions and making it possible for teachers to do their jobs more effectively.
Addressing guests at the ceremony in Katlehong where the presentation was made by Tedcor chief executive John Houghton to the school's principal, MW Marule, Councillor Louis Sibeko, the Ekurhuleni mayoral committee member for municipal infrastructure said the mobile desks were a boon to under equipped schools.
The plastic injection moulded desk sits comfortably on a child's lap. They are light and easy to carry, practically indestructible and provide a workable, practical and cost effective alternative to traditional desks.
Tedcor also donated R70 000 worth of Information Technology equipment like computers and photocopies to both Chivirikani and Greenfields Primary Schools. Tedcor also donated R60 000 Greenfields Primary School on 22 September 2009.
